About

I’m an engineer based in Tokyo, Japan, originally from Indonesia. Most of my working life has been spent in the infrastructure engineering such as migrating fleets of VMs, untangling Kubernetes clusters someone else designed, and cutting cloud bills that had quietly become a rounding error in someone’s budget. Currently looking to be touching more on AI platform and infrastructure.

What I actually do

More than a decade, starts as a full-stack engineer then phasing into infrastructure engineering. What I’ve done mostly includes: re-architecting Kubernetes to cut costs by 80%, moving hundreds of workloads between clouds, shaping the security in the SDLC. I’ve led small to medium teams, built platforms and tooling for the engineers, and written the technical documents and designs architectures.

I care about the unglamorous parts. Cost that nobody owns. Secrets in a wiki. An on-call rotation that pages you for something a dashboard could have told you an hour earlier. Infrastructure as code that a new hire can read on their first day.

Beyond the day job

This blog is where the other half lives, the rests also stays at my farms. I write about various things such as homelab that I rebuilt out of ex-mining hardware, some interesting parts that I haven’t a chance to experiences in work.

If you’re looking for my resume, check out at CV.

Elsewhere

I’m on GitHub and LinkedIn. If you’re looking for an infra engineer who can trace backend code, or who isn’t afraid of legacy systems, or currently building AI infrastructure and platform, get in touch.

Credentials

Get some certs because I’m always interested to learning new things even its not something that I currently working on. (sometimes to for some refreshment from the usual repeating stuff at work)
